Detour for visitors to village

SEVERAL road closures are to be put in place in Barrow upon Soar while roadworks are carried out.

Village visitors and residents will face a five-mile 10-minute detour taking in the A6 and Slash Lane while the works are carried out.

The patching works in Sileby Road will start from July 20 and end on July 24. The roads that are to close temporarily are as follows:

■■Sileby Road will be closed between the junction of Slash Lane to where it meets South Street.

■■South Street will be closed from where it meets Sileby Road to the roundabout at Bridge Street.

■■Ribble Drive, Wilford Close, The Pastures, Huston Close, and Grove will be closed at their junctions with Sileby Road as and when required.

■■Melton Road, Mill Lane and Lodge Close will be closed at their junctions with South Street as and when required.

A temporary prohibition of waiting and loading at any time will be on Sileby Road and South Street.
