Riding in tribute to care workers

-

FOUR friends are riding to create awareness and remember the adult social care workers who have been active throughout the lockdown.

Phil Hutchinson said often carers have been working in conditions where there has been little or no PPE or kit of inadequate quality.

Carers have been into non-clinical settings such as people’s homes and many have carried on throughout the crisis, juggling family life with personal risk.

Phil said: “We’re riding 89 miles over two days around Leicestershire to signify the total days from the start of lockdown until the restrictions were eased.

“We’re aiming to raise £2000 and use this to plant a variety of trees in an area in Leicester which all people can access to remember the valuable selfless work which has been done to ensure loved ones have been looked after in their homes during the crisis.”
