Attraction praised for post-lockdown action
CONKERS HAS REOPENED AFTER RESTRICTIONS
A POPULAR visitor attraction has been praised after its post-lockdown reopening.
Conkers, which is in Rawdon Road, Moira, is a family-friendly centre in the National Forest.
It reopened to visitors on Saturday, July 4, having been shut for a number of months due to the lockdown measures.
Organisers at the North West Leicestershire attraction have now been praised by VisitEngland, the national tourism board, for the measures put in place to reopen.
The “We’re Good to Go” certifications from the agency is handed to sites demonstrating a good standard of cleanliness and social distancing measures. It acts as a way of reassuring potential visitors the attraction is adhering to government and Public Health England guidance.
Nicky Carlton, operations manager at Conkers, said: “We’ve worked hard to put all of the necessary measures in place to keep our visitors safe and we’re proud to be able to display our Good to Go certificate to reassure everyone.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors back safely.”
According to VisitEngland, the “We’re Good to Go” mark should act as a “ring of confidence” for businesses and attractions to show they are able to open and operate safely.
Ticket prices were reduced at Conkers when it reopened by 80 per cent as part of the safety measures put in place when reopening.
Capacity limits were also put in place, while tickets should be booked in advance before visiting.
