- By DAVID OWEN david.owen@reachplc.com

WAYNE Lineker sparked hilarity and incredulity on the internet after he posted a “cringeworthy” message advertising for a younger girlfriend.

The 58-year-old Ibiza beach club owner – brother of Gary – wants someone almost 30 years his junior.

He said he is after someone much younger than him who likes to cook, is willing to give up her career for their relationship and does not have any “baggage”, writes MirrorOnline.

After he shared the – joke – advert to Instagram he was slated by followers, with one calling it the “worst thing I’ve ever read” and another labelling it “cringeworthy”.

Wayne also posted a picture of himself wearing sunglasses outside Ocean Beach Club.

He wrote: “So, my family have decided I need a girlfriend for my own sanity and health... so here’s my criteria.”

He went on to list attributes he is looking for in a woman, including “strong, nice, loving personality”.

He said: “You must like older men but only me... You have to be a worldie and above 30 (okay 28, 29 could work) but not my age as that would just look weird.

“You must like to travel and to fly business class and stay in incredible hotels. Be prepared to give up your career or job or at least be able to work from a laptop on a tropical beach somewhere.

“You will need to spend the summer in Ibiza and the winter in Dubai with two weeks in the UK for Christmas and new year with the families and holidays to the Maldives.

“No baggage as mine are all grown up. A dog is acceptable but will need a passport. You must be able to cook as I love cooking, especially Waitrose ready meals.

“You need to be confident enough to be able to go to the front of the queue in nightclubs and accept a table and free drinks from the owners,” he said.

“You will need a driving license to share a Bentley and a Lamborghini Jeep (pending).

“She should not want children and be intelligent but not boring. Outgoing suits.”

One follower replied: “Worst thing I’ve ever read.”

Another said: “Who on earth would want to be with you after writing that?”

A third said: “Girlfriend might be the wrong term. A girlfriend will have her own personality, values, interests and tastes.”
