PLAYER RATINGS

-

15 KINI MURIMURIVALU: Did not not commit fully to the tackle for Toulon’s first try and also popped an interception pass in the build up to the second Toulon try. Shaky from the Fijian 4/10

14 HARRY POTTER: Looked bright stepping in off his wing and did well early in second half to offload when being bundled into touch. Took his try really well but defensively still a work in progress 7/10

13 JACO TAUTE: Sat down Duncan Paia’aua with thunderous 20th minute carry. Provided the assist for Nadolo’s try 6/10

12 MATT SCOTT: Did well early into second half to offload when being bundled into touch. Went the distance on a draining evening 6/10

11 NEMANI NADOLO: His try before half-time is his hallmark, unstoppable from that range. Held up Raphael Lakafia over the line well in the second half. Made 55 metres from 11 carries and completed his six tackles 7/10

10 GEORGE FORD: Missed kicks at goal, a key missed tackle and a crucial kick to touch that fell the wrong side of the flag when Tigers had the momentum. A game he will want to forget, quickly 3/10

9 BEN YOUNGS: Bravely tapped a penalty before halftime that led to Nadolo’s try. Distribution at times was slow but not always his fault as Toulon disrupted the breakdown 6/10

1 ELLIS GENGE: The baby Rhino marked the birth of Ragh Ellis in midweek with a rampaging display with ball in hand. Finished a move well to score but try was chalked off for a forward pass 8/10

2 TOM YOUNGS: Usual physical fare from the longserving hooker, who was truly in the wars requiring plenty of medical attention. Penalised twice 5/10

3 DAN COLE: Steady without being eye-catching. Shed blood for the cause when Tigers were under the pump 6/10

4 TOMAS LAVANINI:

Stripped by Sergio Parisse, perhaps illegally, that led to Heem’s try. His late tackle deserved a yellow card and was massively avoidable. It was a costly sin-binning 5/10

5 CALUM GREEN: Key part of Tigers’ defensive effort inside their own 22. Substituted late on as Thom Smith got four minutes 6/10

6 HARRY WELLS: Stole a line out in the second half and made some eye-catching carries. One of only three forwards to go the distance 6/10

7 TOMMY REFFELL:

Fantastic breakdown turnover under his own posts in the second half but Toulon’s force in the collisions limited his impact in this department 6/10

8 HANRO LIEBENBERG: A dog of war at number eight. Constantly ran into heavy traffic for the Tigers’ cause 7/10
