No such thing as an international break

IF Jamie Vardy was to get injured, not signing a striker may look shortsighted.

But it’s difficult to not only afford

BIG MATCH: Jonny Evans and the Northern Irish face a Euro play-off

ALTHOUGH City have been successful in their buys from the EFL, with Maddison and Leonardo Ulloa doing well immediately, and James Justin looking promising, it’s hard to envisage signings with the Europa League squad deadline coming up on Tuesday.

In that case, it would be beneficial for the club to loan out the likes of Filip Benkovic and Matty James, who both need and deserve gametime.

IF THERE WAS A MATCH TOMORROW, WHAT WOULD THE BEST STARTING XI BE?

A 4-3-3 of Schmeichel; Castagne, Evans, Soyuncu, Justin; Mendy, Praet, Tielemans; Under, Vardy, Barnes.

It’s worth noting that this assuming Maddison is fit.

I just don’t know where he slots into the team at the moment, as the Mendy, Tielemans, Praet triumvirate was excellent for the first three games, and City always felt unbalanced whenever Maddison played on the wing.

AFTER four Premier League games played, it is time for the first international break of the season.

City have had a positive start to the campaign, winning their first three league games, including a 5-2 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

They did, however, come unstuck against West Ham on Sunday, falling to a somewhat unexpected 3-0 home defeat.

THREE AND EASY: Timothy Castagne, Wesley Fofana and Cengiz Under will all make City a stronger outfit this season

Leicester will have to wait a bit longer in order to bounce back from that result. City take on Aston Villa at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, October 17.

While the squad prepares for that game, there will be a few jetting off to represent their country on the international stage.

So, who will be in action for their country and when will they be playing?
