This district has so far seen 723 cases confirmed. It has so far managed to escape any extra restrictions.
HINCKLEY AND BOSWORTH Alert level: Medium
Latest seven-day rate: 101.4 per 100,000 population
Hinckley and Bosworth has largely gone under the radar as far as rates have been concerned.
There have been 922 positive coronavirus tests returned in the area since records began.
MELTON
Alert level: Medium
Latest seven-day rate: 101.8 per 100,000 population
At one point the borough was at the centre of a localised outbreak but after extra measures were pumped in and testing stepped up, further restrictions from above were not required.
Melton has the county’s lowest number of cases since the start of the pandemic – 348.
NORTH WEST LEICESTERSHIRE
Alert level: Medium
Latest seven-day rate: 101.8 per 100,000 population
Another area thus far unaffected by local lockdowns and extra restrictions. Rates in this district have been relatively low compared to other areas.
Latest figures show there have been 608 cases since the pandemic started.
OADBY AND WIGSTON
Alert level: High
Latest seven-day rate: 178.8 per 100,000 population
The small borough rejoined Leicester in local lockdown last month after an alarming rise in cases.
The area, which in parts neighbours the city, was also kept in local lockdown longer than other county areas when the local lockdown first started.
With cases and rates still high, the borough is the only one in the county thus far to have been placed in the high alert level.
The area has had 955 cases confirmed since the start of the pandemic.
