Tonight’s the night we recognise best in education
THE LeicestershireLive Education Awards 2020 take place tonight, a glittering digital ceremony in which we celebrate and honour the brilliant work and achievements of our schools, universities and further education colleges.
The virtual event, which is headline sponsored by the University of Leicester, will be broadcast live on our website today, at 7pm.
As well as finding out who will be named Inspirational Teacher of the Year and Student of the Year, we will learn the winner of the highly anticipated School of the Year Award.
The School of the Year gong is reserved for an excellent institution that has worked hard to achieve great things in the past 12 months.
Perhaps they have turned things around to make school life better than ever.
Or perhaps they have received stellar reports or developed schemes that enhance school life for pupils and teachers.
Aspire People has sponsored the School of the Year category this year.
Sales director Kelly SteadmanHope, pictured, said: “Aspire People is a local one stop shop for education establishments.
“Unlike other agencies, we recruit and place permanent and supply educational staff into schools, SEN schools, academies and nurseries throughout Leicester and Leicestershire.
“Whether it’s a teacher, nursery nurse or a school business manager you are looking for, or if you are looking to find a new role in an education setting, Aspire People can help.
“It’s an honour to be a sponsor of this year’s education awards and to recognise achievements within education.
“We would also like to say thank you to all working in education for their dedication during and throughout a difficult and testing period.”
You are invited to join our nominees and their friends and family on our website tonight to see who will be named among the very best in their categories.
There will be special guests, interactive activities and prize giveaways to make the evening extra special.
Student awards include Music Excellence, Science and Maths and Sporting Excellence.
Winners in each category will also be in the running for the University of Leicester’s Outstanding Education Citizen Award.
