Binmen to collect on different days over holidays

DETAILS of how waste collection services in Charnwood will take place over the Christmas period have been released by the borough council.

Many collections and other services are to alter, including for refuse, recycling, garden, bulky items, commercial/trade and clinical.

Tuesday, December 22 collections will change to Monday, December 21; December 23 collections will change to December 22; December 24 collections will change to December 23 and December 25 collections will change to Thursday, December 24. There will be no collections on: Christmas Day, Boxing Day or Monday, December 28.

Collections will proceed as normal from December 29 to 31

Friday, January 1 collections will be picked up the following day.

There will be no garden waste collections for the weeks commencing December 21 and 28. The service will recommence from January 4, 2021.

The final bulky waste collections of the year will take place on Saturday, December 19.

Residents are asked to book their last collection by 2pm on December 17. Any bulky waste collection applications made after then will be collected on January 4, from 6am.

Items should be outside by 6am on the changed collection day.

Clinical waste collections will take place on December 23 and 30.

Commercial/trade waste collections will take place on December 21 and 29.
