Festive tune will also raise charity money

MUSICIANS from the city have recorded a Christmas song to raise people’s spirits – and money for The Prince’s Trust.

Singer-songwriter Alice Kübe, 24, and music producer Jake Wincott, 21, both from Leicester, have released the single I Believe in Christmas, which also features city R’n’B artist Morgan Munroe.

The trio created the Christmas song to offer a sense of normality and positivity during the pandemic.

They have also chosen to donate a portion of their download sales to The Prince’s Trust, as both Alice and Jake have been helped by the charity.

Alice and Jake are being supported by businessman and mentor Yasin El Ashrafi, owner of HQ Studios in Leicester, where the song was recorded.

Alice said: ‘Living through the pandemic inspired us to write the song. As a musician I’ve been personally affected by Covid, as a lot of the gigs I had planned were cancelled.

“Making music is what I love to do and making a Christmas song gave me a bit of hope.

“Plus if we can help other young people by raising money for The Prince’s Trust, that’s a bonus!’

Jake added: ‘I’ve had support from The Prince’s Trust and Yasin – they’ve both been there for me when I’ve needed it.

“We really enjoyed making the track and the video and we hope everyone will get behind the song to help raise money for The Trust.”

The single is available via Spotify, Apple and all online major digital service providers and 25p from every download will go to The Prince’s Trust.
