Sam raises spirits and £2,300 with live virtual concert

-

THE X Factor’s Sam Bailey has been lifting spirits with a live virtual concert in support of Family Action and its annual Christmas Toy Appeal.

The Leicestershire mum-of-three lent her vocal chords for the gift appeal, which aims to make Christmas a little more special for children who might otherwise have nothing to open on Christmas Day, as well ensuring Family Action can continue to support families at Christmas and beyond.

The concert was broadcast live from Sam’s home studio last week and is still available to view via the star’s Facebook page.

The concert was watched by 1,400 people, including members of her fan club the Bailey Cuppa Crew, who generously donated £2,376 on the night.

Sam said: “I know many families will be struggling this Christmas and I wanted to do something to help them.

“I chose to support Family Action as they have been helping families throughout the pandemic and their toy appeal will make sure the children they support will have a present to open on Christmas Day.”

David Holmes, chief executive of Family Action, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to our friend Sam Bailey for her fantastic support for

Family Action and our work. We are so thrilled she gave a special concert to help our toy appeal. We would also like to thank everyone who generously gave a donation.

“We are aiming to give out over 10,500 presents this Christmas through our toy appeal. For some of the children who benefit from the appeal, it may be the only gift they receive this Christmas.

“Sam’s support means a great deal to us, as this year, more than ever, it is just so important we make Christmas magic for the thousands of children we support.”
