IT’S GOING TO BE A CRACKER ZOG AND THE FLYING DOCTORS BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR

-

BBC1, Christmas Day, 2.35pm

ANY show that starts with Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith dressed as Santa and Mrs Claus, with Tom Allen and Matt Lucas as their merry elves, is worthy of attention.

Consider this the boozy aperitif to Christmas, with four familiar faces competing in festive challenges to win Christmas Star Baker.

Jamie and Rosie from 2019, Ruby from 2018 and James from 2017 are back and ready to face their fondantfilled demons.

Highlights from a bauble-bedecked tent include panic over panettone and posh microwave puds (yes really!), illusion showstoppers and a song from Alexandra Burke.

MAGIC Light animations based on Julia Donaldson’s books are now a fixture of Christmas Day.

This sequel to the brilliant Zog, follows the adventures of Princess Pearl, who forms a flying medical trio with a knight and a dragon. But she is locked up by her dad, who thinks princesses can’t be doctors.

Listen out for the voice talents of Sir Lenny Henry, Hugh Skinner, Patsy Ferran, Kit Harington and Rob Brydon.
