Hope you like pizza, Kirtee, as a reward for pandemic efforts

-

A KEY worker from the county has won a year’s supply of free Domino’s pizza after going “above and beyond” for her community during the coronavirus pandemic.

Kirtee Patel, a health and safety assistant at a food packaging company, is one of just 60 people in the UK to be named a Domino’s

Local Legend - out of 43,994 nominees.

Kirtee started working for the company in February as a health and safety assistant, before the onset of the pandemic.

She faced a number of challenges since the onset of Covid-19, said a spokesperson, but still helped to maintain and lift other people’s spirits by making them feel positive and creating a safe workplace to operate in.

She said: “I was so grateful to have been nominated as a Domino’s Local Legend, and to actually win the award is even better! It means so much to have my work recognised in this way. I’m very pleased that I can share this prize with my family and colleagues for the next 12 months too as it really was a team effort.”

Dominic Paul, head of Domino’s, said: “Our congratulations and heartfelt thanks go to Kirtee.

“We launched Domino’s Local Legends initiative in October to recognise and thank everyone who has kept the country running this year. We know all key workers deserve recognition for their hard work, we hope a year’s supply of Domino’s will give our 60 winners a well-earned reason to relax and share a pizza feast with their households and colleagues.”
