Awards will honour best Community Care Professional
NOMINATIONS are now open for the LeicestershireLive Care Professional of the Year Awards, with names coming in of exemplary people who better the lives of others across Leicestershire.
The awards, now in their ninth year, include categories such as Dementia Care Professional of the Year, Best Newcomer to Care and Palliative Carer of the Year.
One category we know will garner some fantastic nominations is the Community Care Professional of the Year, which will champion someone who supports people in a domiciliary care environment.
We know there are some fantastic individuals who excel in this field, and we are asking you to nominate them, whether you receive the support yourself or you work with someone who goes above and beyond in their work.
The Community Care Professional of the Year award is this year sponsored by Wales England Care, and Kim Churcher, from the firm, explained why this category is important.
“At Wales England Care Ltd, we have been supporting and recognising apprentices across Wales since 2009 and regularly sponsor the Apprenticeship Awards Cymru,” she said.
“As a Prime Contract holder with ESFA for two years, we would like to do the same in England.
“Why Leicestershire? Because we started our journey in Birmingham, are currently working with Dudley College, BCTG, and, previously BMet, but now we want to branch out to Leicestershire, too.
“We have seen thousands of people achieve their awards and it is an honour to be part of the learners’ journey, watching so many people achieve qualifications and progress within their career.
“I started in the health care industry more than 25 years ago and have seen many changes.
“I am passionate about the industry and, through our domiciliary care provision, am committed to providing the best possible care for our citizens.
“Providing training within this sector is truly humbling. Even during Covid-19, people within this sector not only coped but excelled, while all the time still working towards their qualifications.
“To say I am proud isn’t enough, and that is why we at Wales England Care Ltd are absolutely delighted to be sponsoring the Community Care Professional of the Year.”
Nominations for the LeicestershireLive Care Professional of the Year Awards are set to close on Monday, January 4.
Three finalists will be shortlisted within each category by a judging panel.
“The winners will then be announced at the virtual awards, which will be streamed live by LeicestershireLive on Thursday, January 28, at 7pm.
Guests and prize giveaways are set to make the ceremony special, with nominees, their families and our community at large encouraged to join us for the celebrations. For more information, and to nominate, visit:
