Justin ‘good enough for Barcelona’
LUTON Town manager Nathan Jones has hailed James Justin’s performances for Leicester City – and says it would not be a surprise if he ends up at Barcelona.
Justin has been in sensational form for Brendan Rodgers’ side which has helped them become serious contenders for a top four finish and Champions League football next season.
Rodgers has been hugely impressed by his contribution and he is now being tipped to break into Gareth Southgate’s England squad despite serious competition from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kyle Walker.
But Jones feels Justin has all the attributes to break into the Three Lions squad having overseen his development at Kenilworth Road before selling him to the Foxes last year.
“You look at top full-backs like Dani Alves and Jordi Alba who have played for Barcelona and won World Cups and European Championships… JJ is in that mould,” he told talk-SPORT.
“He will go all the way. The boy will play for England. We believe that if he ends up at Barcelona it’ll be no surprise. He’s that good.”
Justin has made 22 appearances for the Foxes this season and has scored one goal which came in a 4-2 win over Burnley in the early stages of the campaign.
Rodgers revealed how right-back rival Ricardo Pereira is giving Justin his support and says he is a dream to manage.
“It tells you everything about the environment and everything about the spirit of the team that arguably his closest rival for his position is someone who is helping him the most,” Rodgers said.
“(Justin) has been incredible over the past year. From a manager’s perspective, he’s been a dream.”
