Race for Life events return
RULES IN PLACE
CANCER Research UK’s Race for Life fundraisers will return this year, the charity says.
Participants this year will set off on the course either alone or in small, socially-distanced groups.
Hand sanitiser will be provided – and participants will be asked to avoid hugging on the finishing line.
Cancer Research UK is now calling on men, women and children to enter a race. Anyone who signs up in January can claim 30 per cent off the entry fee by using the code JAN2021.
If any of the planned events have to be cancelled, people will be entitled to a refund.
Pretty Muddy and Pretty Muddy Kids will take place at Prestwold Hall, near Loughborough, on Sunday, May 16.
Race for Life Loughborough takes place in the town centre on Sunday, June 6.
Leicester Race for Life is at Victoria Park on Sunday, July 11.
Amy Hall, Cancer Research UK’s event manager for Leicestershire, said: “All 400 mass participation Race for Life events across the UK were cancelled last year to protect the country’s health.
“So this year, more than ever, we need people to come together and help beat the disease.
“Every step our scientists take towards beating cancer relies on our supporters.
“Our Race for Life events are open to all, and we’re sending a heartfelt message to everyone to come together in 2021.
“It may be events look a little different this year but we are working proactively with our venues and suppliers to deliver a socially distanced but great experience.”
