Harry and Meghan, Britain needs you
DEAR Prince Harry and Meghan: First of all, congratulations on the news of your pregnancy, Meghan. You both must be overjoyed.
Family is so important and I hope you don’t mind me writing to you to ask you to seriously consider returning to your immediate family here in the UK and also to us, your grandmother’s people.
We miss you both, and, Meghan, if you are homesick away from your beloved country, please be assured that we will try to give you all the support you need to settle back here.
Prince Harry, you were born to be a royal prince and the work you have done in the past alongside your brother, Prince William, and on your own merit, is surely something that you would wish to continue.
We need our Royal Family – never mind what some say. I am proud to be a supporter of the Royal Family and I will stand up and declare that in any way I can.
Please, please, don’t stay away. I come from a family that is broken. Some I don’t see very often and some I have not seen for years and never will, all due to family problems which I am sure could have been sorted out.
We are on this earth for such a short time and regrets have a habit of catching up with us as we grow older (and perhaps wiser).
I still have the memory of two young boys following their mother’s coffin on that awful day when you had the whole world watching you. You had no choice, you had to be brave and for those of us who remember that day I am sure they remember like I do the heartache that was so clearly visible that day.
One final thing, Prince Harry and Meghan: you may never have a chance of reconciliation, but please, please try. We miss you and want to welcome Archie and his sibling with open arms, right here, in the UK.
