No-one to blame but mayor and his party

-

SADLY, Leicester is back in the top two areas across the whole country for Covid infections.

The questions everyone is asking are “why is Leicester at the centre of high infection rates again” and “where is the quality leadership from the council?”

Why is the authority failing to properly answer important questions time and time again?

The mayor looks increasingly clueless, especially when he suggests the persistently high case levels were down to particular problems that he clearly thinks can only be found in Leicester.

Leicester is not unique in terms of housing and deprivation.

However, Leicester does have one particular and unique problem and that is the diabolical leadership.

Leicester’s Labour council has been flagged up by the national and international media for all the wrong reasons.

Last year the mayor received the undesirable title “Labour’s Lockdown Clown” and he was branded by senior government officials as an “imbecile”.

The mayor can blame everyone he wants, and the government, but most sensible people have recognised the particular problem in Leicester is the political disease of the hegemonic dominance of oneparty’s incompetence.

Councillor Nigel Porter, Aylestone but it’s only there for 30 minutes or so and when it’s gone the speeds increase.

This high visibility enforcement is no longterm solution.

Maybe a covert operation by the police would supply a better overall picture of the problem we are facing on a daily basis.

Residents have had enough. Action must be taken. I understand it’s a blue light route but it’s getting more dangerous by the day and has now been made worse by the traffic-calming measures in Westcotes Drive and Letchworth Road.
