WHAT COUNTY FORCE SAID

LEICESTERSHIRE Police Deputy Chief Constable Rob Nixon said: “We have a robust complaints procedure which undergoes an appropriate level of scrutiny. In addition to this any complainant may appeal the outcome of their complaint and it will be scrutinised by either the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner or the Independent Office for Police Conduct, who are independent of the police.

“We in Leicestershire ensure that all complaints are made available for inspection by members of an independent ethics committee who routinely scrutinise and provide feedback during a public meeting on how complaints are managed.

“We take allegations of racism very seriously and these will be investigated by our Professional Standards Department. Our officers now wear Body Worn Video cameras so that all interactions with the public can be recorded and used as evidence in an investigation, including a complaint.”

THE crisp maestros at Walker have launched a new flavour to get the taste buds tingling.

Bosses at the Leicester-based snack giant reckon the new flavour – Flamin’ Hot – is guaranteed to spice things up.

A Walkers spokesman said: “Lunchtimes just got spicier. Walkers has unveiled a red hot new addition to its range of crisp flavours – Flamin’ Hot

“Available now in selected stores, the new spicy crisps are made with beetroot, fiery chilli flakes and paprika extract, making them a naturally vivid shade of red.

“Offering a spicy twist on the nation’s favourite snack, these crisps are the perfect choice to add some heat to any lunchtime sandwich.”

The announcement follows the launch of Wotsits Flamin’ Hot last year.

Fernando Kahane, marketing director at Walkers said: “These new crisps are sure to please those on a mission to satisfy their spice cravings.

“The vivid red colour of the crisps comes from natural beetroot and paprika extracts in the seasoning, and have been carefully crafted to offer the perfect balance of chilli heat to spice up a lunchtime, while smoky paprika gives a warming, moreish finish.”
