Conkers is ready to get active once more

-

CONKERS activity centre is set to reopen next month as the country eases itself out of lockdown.

The family attraction, in the heart of the National Forest in Moira, is planning to relaunch on April 12, with safety measures indoors and outdoors to comply with whatever the latest Covid guidelines are at the time.

Hand washing facilities have been increased, cleaning routines enhanced and admission numbers will be controlled, said a spokesperson.

Purchases on site will be made using contactless payment to further reduce tactile contact between staff and visitors.

General manager Nicky Carlton said: “Following the recommendations in the latest government roadmap and the encouragement to get outdoors again, Conkers is getting ready to welcome families back this season.

“We can’t wait to say hello to visitors again.”

Activities at Conkers for families include a labyrinth, a water play area, a 4D cinema and a sky viewing tower.

The attraction is also developing additional outdoor pursuits activities to launch later in the year.

To help people to make up for lost time on their membership, Conkers has extended all memberships for 95 days to give people more time to visit.

Tickets must be booked in advance, with prices reduced to 80 per cent of 2019 prices, meaning an adult ticket will cost £8, a child’s ticket £7 and a family ticket £28.

In 2020, Conkers received the ‘We’re Good To Go’ certification from national tourism agency, VisitEngland.

The achievement of the national industry standard confirmed that the centre had put in place processes to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.
