LEICESTER Tigers have signed hooker Nic Dolly.

The 21-year-old front-rower joins Tigers on a multi-year deal from Coventry Rugby, whom he joined ahead of the revised 2020/21 Championship campaign.

Born in Australia, Dolly enjoyed a successful youth career with New South Wales Rugby Union and the English-qualified forward joined Sale Sharks in 2017 before being included in the England Under-18s squad that season.

He spent time on loan with Sale FC, Rotherham Titans and Jersey Reds and represented England in the Under-20s Six Nations and Junior World Championship in 2019, alongside Tigers prop Joe Heyes.

Tigers head coach Steve Borthwick said: “Nic is a promising young player who we are excited to welcome to Tigers.

“He is an ambitious, hard-working player and impressive young man who we believe can add to our squad and develop his game as a member of the Leicester squad.”

Dolly said: “I am really excited to be joining this group of boys, with so much experience.

“Tigers has so much history and I’m looking forward to learning, growing and contributing to this great club”

Meanwhile, Leicester outsideback Sam Aspland-Robinson will join Coventry on a dual-registration contract with Tigers.

The 24-year-old has made 14 appearances for Tigers since his debut in 2019.

Aspland-Robinson joins Tigers team-mate Sam Lewis at Coventry and becomes the ninth member of Borthwick’s squad to be given a loan move.
