Celebrities back appeal to help save baby Azaylia
REALITY STAR’S DAUGHTER NEEDS TREATMENT
REALITY TV star Ashley Cain’s appeal to help save his baby daughter has been boosted by former footballer Rio Ferdinand and his TOWIE star wife Kate.
The couple donated £1,000 to Ashley’s GoFundMe page set up in a bid to get his daughter specialist treatment for leukaemia.
Seven-month-old Azaylia had a bone marrow test last week in a bid to discover if her recent transplant had worked, but her family was left heartbroken when doctors confirmed the treatment had been unsuccessful.
The reality star revealed that his daughter’s best chance at surviving the sickness lies in treatment available in Singapore.
Ashley was on the books at Barwell FC when he signed up for TV show Ex On The Beach.
Mirror Online reported that he told the many donors to his appeal: “I am absolutely lost for words. I’m overwhelmed by the sheer amount of support that you guys have given us.”
Kate and Rio, who recently welcomed their first child together, Cree, have been joined by Love Island stars Molly-Mae Hague and Maura Higgins, who also donated £1,000 each.
Other supporters include footballers Cyrus Christie, Harrison Reed and former Hinckley United player Andre Gray – Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s fiance.

Azaylia’s GoFundMe target of £1 million was passed in a matter of hours, and currently stands at £1.5 million.
But since the donations came pouring in, Ashley and his partner Safiyya have shared their devastation after discovering an essential drug needed for his daughter’s leukaemia battle will not be released.
Ashley said: “I honestly can’t thank everyone enough.
“I’m looking really tired and I’ve got pain in my eyes as we found out today that one of the drugs that Azaylia needs to start treatment tomorrow, in order to bring her leukemia count down and get her into remission, is not being released by the pharmaceutical companies.
“So not only today have I been looking after Azaylia, but going through heavy talks with doctors, consultants, and pharmaceutical companies to try to get this essential drug that Azaylia needs.”
Ashley, his father and brother are to cycle 150 miles to raise money for other families affected by the disease.
