A CHILDREN’S attraction that promises to be the first of its kind in Leicester is opening soon.

Little Avenue, a children’s role play centre, is based on a scaleddown version of a town.

Located in the Go Kids Go indoor play centre in Raw Dykes Road, it is aimed at children aged three to 10.

There will be 12 rooms, each filled with props and activities.

They include a cafe where children can pretend to make a coffee, bake cakes, cook and serve food and cash up, and a cottage with dolls and doll accessories.

There will be a beauty salon with a make-up station, hair wash and nail bar, a hospital complete with an ambulance and check-up station, and a fire station with a fire truck.

Little Avenue will also include a police station with a jail, bed and a toilet for the inmates, a post office, and a supermarket with fruit and vegetables, and a mini fridge and freezer.

A live performance music theatre will be complete with a piano, guitars and drums, and there will be the chance for children to take part in singalongs on the stage.

Other features will include an ice cream van, flower boutique, ATM machine and telephone booth, plus a baby park with lots of activities on a green grass carpet.

For parents and carers, there will be a cafe serving hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Owner Mohammed Khan said: “Our city currently has all other kids

activities focusing on all ages of children, but it does not have a proper role play focusing just on young kids.

“We have wanted to do this for a very long time, and while we had to close due to Covid this gave us a good opportunity to bring this imagination town alive.”

Little Avenue is set to open on Monday, May 17. Mohammed said it has the official We’re Good To Go stamp, given to tourism and hospitality businesses that have worked hard to follow government and industry Covid-19 guidelines.
