AS food and drink businesses prepare to reopen for outdoor visitors in less than a week, the city’s biggest bowling alley has announced a new 400-capacity outdoor space.

Lane7 in Great Central Street, Leicester, has created a new beer garden to add to its outdoor drinking and dining area.

The new space is next door to the venue on the adjacent car park and will feature its own bar, service from the resident street food traders and will even have cover to keep you dry on rainy days. You’ll be able to enjoy beer, cocktails and slushies, along with street food seven days a week.

All of the traders will be open seven days a week.

In May, The English Indian will join the food court and will be serving its award-winning Indian take on fish and chips every day.

This will coincide with the reopening of Yardbirds, serving American fried chicken, and the relaunch of all indoor activity, as Leicester’s biggest bowling alley and social gaming zone comes back to life.

Lane7’s existing outdoor areas, The Goods Yard and Jamie’s Lady Garden, will also be open for outdoor seating - taking the venue’s outdoor capacity to nearly 500 during April and May.

The Goods Yard and Jamie’s Lady Garden will both have outdoor TV screens showing live sport.

Lane7 opened in the former Leicester Central railway station in October 2020, featuring bowling, mini golf, UV ping pong, arcade games and gaming tables. The venue will reopen from Monday and bookings can be made online now. Opening times will be Monday to Thursday 3pm until late and Friday to Sunday, 11am until late.
