BEER gardens at 13 pubs have been given a makeover ahead of reopening today.

Marston’s said each pub garden has had a bespoke design, though, all will have updated heating and lighting.

Garden rooms, teepees, marquees, awnings and jumbo umbrellas have also been installed.

One of the pubs which has had a revamp of its outdoor space is The Plough Inn, in Ratby.

Manager Colin Koerber said: “It feels like a long time coming but we are so excited to be able to reopen and our garden has had a full refresh.

“Hopefully, this is the start of getting back to some form of normality and we can’t wait to welcome back our customers.”

Alongside the garden spaces, Marston’s has introduced an online ordering system, Marston’s Tap, for food and drinks which guests can use during their visit as well as for takeaway services.

Ralph Findlay, chief executive of

Marston’s, said: “We can’t wait to reopen.

“It has been a difficult year for everyone and we are delighted we will be able to reopen some of our pub gardens and once again hear the laughs and chatter that only a pub community brings.

“Our teams are raring to go and excited to welcome guests back, albeit just in outdoor areas for now.

“We have created new outdoor spaces with a number of external dining areas to welcome back friends and families.”

The pubs to get a makeover are: The Flintlock, Hinckley;

The Blacksmith’s Arms, Barwell; The Plough Inn, Ratby;

The Railway Hotel, Shepshed;
