THIS is the face of a rapist who plied a 15-year-old with drink before having sex with her.

Kristian Jackson, 28, has now been jailed for nine years for an incident of “repeated rape for between 20 and 40 minutes.”

A MAN convicted of repeatedly raping a 15-year-old girl after getting her drunk on gin has been sentenced to nine years in jail.

Kristian Jackson, a former bar manager, of Ashby Road, Hinckley, had denied the offence.

The prosecutor, Graham Huston, said the defendant took advantage of the girl’s drunken condition before having sex with her in a house.

He said: “It was an incident of repeated rape for between 20 and 40 minutes.”

The girl, in a video-recorded victim impact statement made nine months after the event, described how the ordeal had shattered her confidence and trust in others.

She suffered sleepless nights for weeks afterwards and reverted to childlike behaviour, constantly needing her mother nearby and avoiding social situations, preferring to “stay at home.”

She added: “I get nervous and paranoid and find it difficult to cope.

“My emotions are up and down like a rollercoaster and I get flash things (flashbacks) about what happened.”

The teenager, who has received counselling, talked of friendships with boys failing, of lost self-confidence and an inability to concentrate on school work.

“It took me on a dark and sad road,” she said.

A jury at Leicester Crown Court convicted Jackson of raping the girl on an evening in October 2019.

The jurors heard that Jackson told a police officer the girl had drunk about a half a bottle of gin in two hours.

Despite the complainant vomiting and going into “a drunken stupor,” the defendant removed her clothing and had sex with her, without her consent, at a house in Hinckley.

Defence counsel, Gary Short, mitigating before sentence, said: “It was completely out of character.

“Rather than this defendant plying a child with drink (intending to commit the offence), it was more a situation of giving her alcohol not understanding, or caring, what the impact would be and when she became unwell he took advantage of the situation.

“He’s from a decent hardworking family who have supported him throughout the trial. He lives with his partner, who also attends at court.”

He said the defendant previously worked as a bar manager, before being furloughed during the lockdown, followed by redundancy.

Sentencing, Recorder Martin Butterworth said: “You’ve been convicted of raping a 15-year-old child and the evidence was powerful.

“I’m satisfied you formed an unhealthy intention towards her.

“In the early evening you gave her a large amount of alcohol.”

He said the defendant initially showed concern when the girl was repeatedly sick but then “had designs” on her.

Then, under the guise of helping her, he took advantage of the situation.

Recorder Butterworth said: “I’m sure you watched her and gauged the degree of her alcohol-induced stupor.”

The girl had resisted him and repeatedly tried to push him away, but he was undeterred, the court heard.

When she began calling out for help, he quickly dressed them both.

The Recorder said: “When [later] confronted by her father you lied, just as you did to this jury.

“The harm you’ve done to her is far-reaching and permanent.”

Jackson was of previous good character and the recorder added: “I accept that people think highly of you and you’ve demonstrated care and support to your own family.”

Jackson claimed to the jury that the girl had initiated the sexual activity and it was consensual despite the fact she was below the age of consent.

Jackson was placed on an indefinite sexual harm prevention order along with a restraining order, banning any contact with the victim or her family.
