A GARDEN built from scratch has been named the most Instagrammable in the UK.

Pauline Wainwright created an oasis in Loughborough that is easy to maintain, attracts wildlife and fully uses the flowering season to ensure a colourful garden all year round, according to garden centre chain Dobbies.

Features include recycled wood from a silver birch tree used for a frog hotel and a birdbath built from an old chimney pot topped with a paving stone.

Dobbies said the garden was a worthy winner of the Most Instagrammable Garden prize at its Not Your Average Gardener awards.

The categories were judged by gardener, journalist and Dobbies podcast host Louise Midgley and the firm’s horticultural director, Marcus Eyles.

Pauline will receive a £250 gift card to spend on gardening plants and tools in the Leicester store as well as a consultation with one of the judges.

Louise said: “Pauline and her husband have created this stunning landscape that has a multitude of elements worthy of capturing on social media all year long.

From frog hotels, bird boxes and quirky features to wildflower patches and beautiful views of the canal, this garden is one we’re all dreaming about.”

Marcus said: “We’re delighted to see so many passionate gardeners get involved and enter our first Not Your

Average Gardener awards. With so many entries it is safe to say judging these fantastic gardeners was no easy task.

“It has been heartwarming to see families and friends nominate one another, showing a true sense of community spirit.

“It is my pleasure to congratulate Pauline in taking home the Most Instagrammable Garden Award. “Her hard work and passion for gardening certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed and I hope she enjoys spending her prize at the Leicester store, to help her green space flourish even more.”
