JUDGING is under way for the ProCon Leicestershire Property and Construction Awards with a bumper set of high-quality entries for the 2020-2021 trophies to be presented in November.

The 18th ProCon Awards are also boosted by the arrival of a fourth corporate sponsor – law firm Gateley Legal becomes a headline sponsor alongside Salus Approved Inspectors, Unique Window Systems and Vistry Partnerships.

The crop of entries now being shortlisted guarantee excellent finalists for all eight categories.

ProCon chairman Umesh Desai said: “The breadth of the construction projects entered is huge and their quality is first rate.

“There will be some very exciting contests between excellent developments.

“Having to postpone the 2020 awards due to the pandemic was frustrating, but it has created the opportunity for this amazing crop of entries.”

The November 2020 ceremony was cancelled due to the coronavirus lockdowns and the ban on large gatherings.

ProCon Leicestershire is now on track to celebrate its extended 20202021 awards on November 11.

The organisers expect to welcome 620 people to Leicester City’s King Power Stadium to discover the best new local building projects, unless there are any new Covid-19 pandemic restrictions which affect such gatherings.

The entries being judged range from showpiece homes, new roads, university buildings, hotels, health centres and land deals.

There are entries from across the county, from Market Harborough to Moira.

Mr Desai said: “With business awards ceremonies already taking place this summer, we’re as confident as we can be that our ceremony will happen.

“And it is great that new and continuing sponsors are backing the event.”

Piet van Gelder, construction partner at Gateley Legal, said: “We are pleased to be corporate sponsors for this year’s ProCon Leicestershire Awards 20-2021.

“The awards remain a key event for the Leicestershire property community as an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of regional property experts in what has been a particularly challenging year for everyone.

“Well done to all for getting this far in the awards process, we wish them all the very best of luck for the ceremony.”
