Chance to meet celeb chef next month
FANS of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White will be able to meet him when he pays a visit to his Leicestershire restaurant next month.
Marco, who aged 33 became the youngest chef to be awarded three Michelin stars, will be heading to his New York Italian restaurant, at the Yew Lodge Hotel in Kegworth, on October 27.
He will be there for lunch service, and will meet and greet diners, sign aprons and chat about the restaurant and all things cookingrelated.
Heather Thornton, director of sales and marketing at the hotel, said: “This will be Marco’s first lunch visit to Kegworth so we’re very excited.
“To be one of the first restaurants he’s visited since the pandemic is a real privilege and I’m sure foodies from across the Midlands will be out in force to say hi.
“It’ll be a great experience not only for the staff but also for those lucky enough to reserve a space.”
Reflecting Marco’s passion for classic, simple, authentic food, guests can look forward to enjoying a mix of Italian-inspired dishes and American classics from a menu created by the man himself, while also getting a signed apron.
Marco said: “The New York Italian represents friendly, all-occasion dining and gives people a great place to go out and eat.
“The menu offers a fresh alternative, where authentic, uncomplicated food is served promptly. We want groups of friends and couples to come in to enjoy lunch or dinner or to celebrate a special occasion.
“It’s not pretentious, it’s just good food, served in a great environment.”
Heather added: “Marco Pierre White wasn’t labelled the Godfather of Modern cooking for no reason, and it will be incredibly exciting to welcome him here.
“There’s going to be a real buzz of excitement on the day and we’re expecting to sell out, so anyone interested should get in touch soon.”
The cost is £49 per person and includes a drink on arrival, fourcourse meal and boxed, signed apron.
