Flatulence filtering firm helping stinky sleepers

-

THE company behind flatulencefiltering underwear has come up with its latest invention – anti-wind bedding.

Shreddies’ carbon undersheet and duvet cover filter have carbon panels built in to trap the stench of foul gas to help people with bad wind – and those they sleep next to.

The £110 undersheet is designed to fit easily under a fitted sheet, while the £180 duvet cover provides extra stink protection for the gassiest slumberers, trapping the smell and neutralising it.

The Leicestershire company said: “You can simply insert your own duvet into the cover and your gas will be discreetly filtered all night long.

“Both products use the same technology found in our award-winning underwear, the highly porous carbon acts as an adsorbent which attracts and traps flatulence odours and is simply reactivated when washed. These brand new products are the latest in a long line of successful odour eliminating products the Shreddies brand is known for including their patented underwear, undershorts, cushions and odour eliminating bags.

The products are all made at the Shreddies base in Cotes, near Loughborough.

The company was founded in 2009 by Paul O’Leary, who developed and patented the flatulence filtering underwear.

Since then the Shreddies range of products has grown to include pyjamas, jeans, cushions and bags.

According to Shreddies, the average person passes gas 14 to 20 times a day and many people experience excessive flatulence at night when they’re lying down.

After dark, the gas builds up inside the colon, coming out in powerful bursts, rather than coming out a little at a time as it does in the day.

The company said: “Throughout the night this gas is released and can cause an unsettled night’s sleep and an unpleasant odour.

“We know from speaking to our customers that bad flatulence at night can drive spouses from their marital bed.”
