FITNESS guru Mr Motivator is setting his sights on a world record – and you could join him.

The breakfast television star, pictured, who grew up in Leicester, will lead a virtual workout tomorrow, dressed in his finest festive knitwear, to mark Save the Children’s 10th Christmas Jumper Day.

The charity and partner Sweatcoin are hoping to recruit more than 5,000 people in Christmas jumpers to join the virtual work- out and set a record for the most people getting sweaty in a festive sweater.

Save the Children is aiming to raise £15,000 and is inviting people to sign up to take part, starting at noon. Mr Motivator – real name Derrick Evans – said: “It’s time to step into Christmas Jumper Day.

“Grab your festive knitwear and join me to help set a world record, raise some much-needed cash and burn some calories.

“We’re going to make history – the most people working out together in a Christmas Jumper, ever.

“Let’s set a target that can’t be topped.

“This is a cause that’s close to my heart. In my very own town, I’ve seen how Save the Children is giving disadvantaged children a brighter future through better access to nutritious food, sports and exercise opportunities.

“That’s why I want as many people as possible to join me on Friday to help children everywhere get the right start in life, so they can believe in a future where anything is possible”. Francesca Savage, head of Christmas at Save the Children, said: “To celebrate 10 years of Christmas Jumper Day, we’re calling on knitwear enthusiasts everywhere to join Mr Motivator’s Christmas Jumper Day workout and help us try to set a festive world record. “Whether you’re at home, at the office or at school, it’s so easy to take part.

“The money raised will help children get the food, education, and medicine they need to see the magic in the world”. To sign up for the record attempt, or donate to the cause, go to:
