AN East Midlands hospice has received a large donation of mince pies from Central England Co-op.
For a second year, Rainbows hospice, in Loughborough, is holding its Christmas celebrations online.
The hospice is providing party packs to each family it supports so they can join in at home.
To help, Co-op stores in Quorn and Rothley donated 250 mince pies to help boost the party packs.
THE Rotary Club of Oadby will be collecting for Rainbows hospice and Birkett House School at Sainsbury’s in the town, on Thursday.
DECORATED tractors took to the roads of South Leicestershire yesterday to raise funds for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.
Nearly 200 vehicles – kitted out in festive decorations and lights were due to set out on a route starting and finishing in Lutterworth and visiting areas such as Blaby, Whetstone, Countesthorpe, and Cosby.
Money from the Archer’s Festive Tractor Run will also go to the MS Therapy Centre, in Leicester.

EMPLOYEES of British Gypsum’s East Leake site have raised money for the charity Crash.
They and colleagues from five other sites raised a total of £8,572 to help Crash fund a further 25 construction projects that support homelessness charities and hospices.
Founded in 1996, Crash brings together industry partners to donate time, funding and resources to make life better for vulnerable people.
HOUSEBUILDER Mulberry Homes has donated £1,000 to Butterfly Conservation.
The money will go towards the charity’s conservation projects, helping to halt and reverse the decline of endangered species.
Sandra Muldoon, head of fundraising at Butterfly Conservation, said: “As the UK charity dedicated to saving butterflies, moths and our environment we rely on donations to fund our work.”
