Adele, left, is kicking off 2022 in spectacula­r fashion with a glitzy Las Vegas residency. The 33-year-old singer will perform a run of weekend shows at the 4,100-seater Colosseum theatre at Caesars Palace until April 16, under the title Weekends With Adele. The Easy On Me singer released her fourth album, titled 30, in November and it chronicles her divorce from Simon Konecki.

When Sir Elton John performed at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in 2018, he was fresh from finishing a mammoth Las Vegas residency which saw him perform his songs in 450 shows over a seven-year period. 2

Rock and roll veteran Sir Rod Stewart recently finished dates at Caesars Palace, playing to 4,000 fans each night. Rod, who turns 77 on January 10, said: “It was just wonderful. When we completed the first show, all the girls in the band cried... It was just so emotional to get out there and do it again.”

Robbie Williams did his first Las Vegas residency in 2019, performing a run of shows at the Wynn hotel. The Robbie Williams Live in Las Vegas shows saw the singer and former X Factor judge perform his biggest hits, some swing songs and a few surprises. He said: “To follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest entertaine­rs of all time is a dream come true.”

Britney Spears launched a Las Vegas residency in 2013 to promote her eighth album, Britney Jean. The show was a hit and was extended beyond its initial two-year run and lasted until December 2017.
