PLOT TWIST

Lives, like most novels, have unexpected moments that change the path you’re walking along.

Hosts Tom and Fran invite an impressive line-up of film and TV stars wellused to fictional plot twists to share their reallife ones while plugging their latest projects.

Recent episodes include Jamie Dornan and Shalom Brune-Franklin, who chat about their new show The Tourist and reveal they have a hero in common.

Meanwhile, Succession’s Brian Cox shares his own personal plot twist – an altercation with Michael Gambon – and the ever-humble Olivia Colman talks about her new dark comedy Landscapers.

Where to start: Brooklyn 99 star Stephanie Beatriz explains why she had no Plan B for her life after deciding to become an actor, and why her role as Mirabel in Disney’s Encanto was so close to her heart.

MOCKERY MANOR

Identical twins with different accents, a mysterious house fire, a weird fairground ride of memories and at least one murderer – Mockery Manor is Edgar Allen Poe meets Agatha Christie with a bit of Friday the 13th thrown in.

Set in 1980s theme park Dreamland, this British black comedy follows teenager JJ who has joined her sister Bette following a scandal that has caused her to change her name.

Their summer jobs soon turn terrifying as the murders start to clock up and they uncover a very dark family secret.

It’s an imagination-fuelled wild caper through creaking rides, dodgy relationships and a catalogue of regional accents that will start your year off with a chuckle. Best of all, once this mystery is solved there’s a second series to get stuck into.

Where to start: The trailer takes the form of the original 1958 televised newsreel from Mockery Manor’s opening day.
