A CRICKET club can bank on the support of a local business which has renewed its sponsorship for another year.

Earl Shilton Building Society (ESBS) has announced it has entered the third year of its sponsorship deal with Barwell Cricket Club

The sponsorship package provides the under-15s to under17s teams with new, ESBS-branded team shirts, pictured left, and also supplied additional playing uniforms.

Geoff Hines Snr, the club chairman, said “It’s fantastic to keep the youngsters supplied in the proper kit. Not only does this help the team members to bond with each other, but it means they’re able to look the part too.

“We’re incredibly appreciative of local support from businesses like ESBS, especially when they’re assisting multiple year groups through longer-term commitment.”

Paul Tilley, chief executive of ESBS, said: “As keen cricket supporters, we are delighted to sponsor Barwell Cricket Club.

“It’s brilliant to have such a well-established and respected cricket club on our doorstep, and we hope its youth development programme continues for a long time to come.”

Founded in 1807, Barwell Cricket Club is a non-profit organisation affiliated with the England & Wales Cricket Board via the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League, and is overseen by a committee that is elected at each annual meeting.

Its vision is to encourage more people, of all ages and genders, within the community to get involved in playing cricket, and lists the development of its junior teams among its core values.
