Less than a week for winner to claim £1m

- By STAFF REPORTER

A £1 MILLION lottery prize looks set to go unclaimed, with less than a week to go until the deadline to do so expires.

Despite wide publicity and appeals, including in the Mercury, time is now running out fast for the mystery winner to come forward for the life-changing prize.

The ticket for the EuroMillions European Millionaire Maker was bought in Hinckley and Bosworth district in January.

The draw promised 100 millionaires would be made that night – but that figure remains short, with the missing ticket-holder only having until Wednesday to claim the prize.

The unwitting Hinckley and Bosworth winner is one of two in the UK not to have claimed their prize, with the other ticket having been bought in South Yorkshire.

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.

The Hinckley and Bosworth ticket number has the code TVSH 82930 - so if you have any lying around, get checking.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said: “Time really is running out for the winner of this prize.

“But we are still hopeful that someone will come forward at the very last minute to claim the money.

“We’re urging everyone to check their old tickets one final time – the easiest way to do this is via the National Lottery app – or look anywhere a missing EuroMillions ticket could be hiding.

“This life-changing prize could really help to make dreams become a reality for someone out there.

“Twenty-three of the 25 lucky UK ticket-holders have claimed their prizes from the special EuroMillions draw, and we’re hoping that these last two winners – one from a ticket bought in the Hinckley and Bosworth district and the other in Doncaster – will now come forward so that they can start to enjoy their amazing win.”

Players can buy and check their tickets online by downloading the National Lottery app or at the website at the end of this article.

Tickets can also be checked in shops which sell them.

Playing online via the app or website means that tickets are automatically checked and winners get an email notification. You can also scan your paper tickets on the National Lottery app to check if you have won.

If you believe you have the winning ticket, call the National Lottery Line on 0333 234 5050 to claim.
