Hospice now member of charity gift card scheme
HOSPICE charity Loros has signed up to a multi-retailer charity gift card.
The Charity Shop Gift Card will be sold and accepted in Loros shops and donation centres.
The gift card has been developed in partnership with the Charity Retail Association to support income generation and help to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
The recyclable and compostable card offers charities the opportunity to tap into the £7 billion gift card market, and is being accepted in most areas of the UK including the national network of stores run by Marie Curie and YMCA.
Gary McMillan-Dale, retail manager for Loros Enterprises, said: “We’re thrilled to be joining the scheme.
“As the distribution of gift cards is expanding, it’s such an exciting way to introduce more people to the great range of preloved clothes, furniture and other household items that we stock.
“All while supporting a local cause and really making a difference”.
Lee Fellows, co-founder of the gift card scheme, said: “We’re really pleased Loros has chosen to join the gift card scheme at this time, which increases the number of Midlands charities involved.
“As well as being a great gift for those more sustainably minded, the card is being used by councils to disburse funds, knowing that the spend helps charities as well as reducing the amount of items going to landfill.”
The Charity Shop Gift Card is a member of Social Enterprise UK, and the Gift Card and Voucher Association.
