BLABY-BASED CLOTHING CHAIN IN COLLABORATION WITH KFC
HYPE clothing has joined the Millennial craze of creating a food-themed spin-off range.
Following in the footsteps of the Greggs x Primark fashion collection and McDonald’s-themed clothes available on sites such as Etsy.com, Hype has created a 47-piece collection with the KFC fast-food chicken chain, including hoodies, bralettes, joggers and backpacks.
The range, launched this month, includes bucket and drinks bags, drumstick print jackets, T-shirts, water bottles and hoodies as well as Colonel Sanders T-shirts.
It is available online and from the Just Hype Carnaby Street flagship store in London.
Liam Green, co-founder and creative director of Hype, which has its headquarters in Blaby, said: “A project that started in 2020 has finally come to vision.
“The years of hard work has paid off with one of our most talked about collections to date. It was a pleasure bringing KFC into the fashion world.
“After working with some of the biggest brands in the world, collaborating with the most finger lickin’ food in the game made sense for our next collaboration.”
Over the years, Hype has teamed up with brands such as Sesame Street, Ninjago, Disney, Budweiser, Toy Story, Call of Duty, Jurassic Park and Pokemon.
In a statement, Hype said: “Inspired by KFC’s history, from menus to slogans, the exclusive collection includes Hype’s original dad cap shape with Bargain Bucket embroidered across the front and statement loungewear set encompassing a bright white softtouch fabric base with a contrasting KFC red It’s Finger Lickin’ Good embossment.
“The range also introduces the stand-out vintage KFC Racer Jacket; a timeless oversized piece emblazoned with KFC’s classic branding alongside button fastening details and fitted hem and cuffs. “For those looking to accessorise, the new KFC Bucket Bag and KFC Drinks Bag are the perfect finishing touches to any outfit and have been carefully designed to hold a bucket of chicken and KFC drink respectively, so you can serve looks and KFC all in one.”
