Enzo’s stubbornness could prove so costly

- Ashby

I AM in my 70th year of supporting Leicester City and I have seen some bad managers over that time, but I have never known one as stubborn as Enzo Maresca.

What is he trying to prove? Supporters are not stupid – many of us have been watching football longer than he has and have some idea of tactics.

This rot started when all the teams had played us once. They knew how to deal with us and they changed their approach, but Enzo changes nothing, he refuses to have a Plan B.

Our main faults: too slow on the build-up; over-complicating moves with too many passes; defending too high up the pitch.

The last few goals against us came because we don’t have proper full-backs to cut down space on the opposition coming at us. Why does he not change his tactics a little with a muchchanged starting line-up? What has striker Tom Cannon got to do to get a game?

I don’t like calling out players, but Patson Daka is an expensive buy who has been a failure; our two wide men are getting nowhere at the moment as their moves are too predictable and repetitive.

Something has to change. But what do I know, I have only been watching them for 70 years?

I just wonder if what is happening off the pitch is starting to show.

Some of these players do not know if they will be around next season and can’t discuss contracts, and there is also the threat of points deductions.

The club is in a mess. What a change from a few years ago, when we were being spoken of as one of the best-run clubs in the game.
