Moving into a new place can definitely invoke a decorating urge. One way to satisfy it is with uplifting designs that catch the moment, as TV presenter and fitness expert AJ Odudu found when searching for a means of highlighting the Victorian windows of her London flat.
INSPIRING DESIGN
AJ called in the experts at Hillarys and when adviser Chris visited her at home, AJ honed in on the globally inspired samples from the Hillarys x Livingetc range. The collection includes embroidered geometrics, leopard and zebra print jacquards and bold graphic prints, complemented by plain textured weaves with a raw, artisan feel in shades of cobalt, ink and copper. ‘I couldn’t believe the choice,’ says AJ. ‘You get to see the range in your own space, which helps in making the correct decision.’
Once AJ and Chris had agreed that the soft pleats of Roman blinds would work best to shade the windows without detracting from the fine detailing of the frames, Chris measured up and as soon as AJ’S order was made up and quality checked, he came back and fitted them. ‘He steamed the blinds and made them look absolutely pristine; the whole process couldn’t have been easier.’
