Ready to introduce a glazed door to your home? Take a look at these popular options

STANDARD-SIZE DOORS

If you are just looking to replace an existing door with a glass one, you might find what you are looking for at Leader Doors. ‘Internal glass doors allow light to flow more freely between spaces, which can help give the illusion of a larger room and create a brighter, airy feel,’ says David Turner, sales director at Leader Doors. ‘Glazed doors are also great at supplying soundproofing between rooms. The glazing helps to reflect the sound back into the room rather than carrying it through to other rooms.’ Take a look at the Tribeca 3L clear glass door, £253, or the City 1P 5L clear glass door, £295.

SLIDING SYSTEMS

The range of sliding glass door options from Rimadesio includes nine beautiful designs to suit any scheme. ‘Adaptability, personalisation, sustainability: these are the keywords that are redefining the quality of living,’ says Rimadesio’s Giulio Malberti. ‘An open room can easily be configured into different spaces with Velaria or one of our other sliding doors.’ Prices are available on request as every item made by the company is bespoke.

PIVOTING OPTIONS

Portapivot specialises in made-to-measure pivot doors. ‘A pivot door rotates around an imaginary vertical axis. With their size and movement, they can create truly impressive design statements,’ says Koen Dries, managing director, Portapivot. ‘Some refer to them as pivot doors, but we call them “pivoting room dividers”. And thanks to the innovative pivot hinges, they can be installed without the need for integrated floor mountings.’ From €2,000 – prices are for a finished door without VAT since this is country specific.

BESPOKE CREATIONS

If you want something unique then IQ Glass should be able to help. ‘Our internal glass door systems give the appearance of simple casement doors and only reveal their bespoke nature when opened,’ explains Carly Coren, marketing executive, IQ Glass. ‘The key advantage to installing glass doors internally is the transparent nature of glass, allowing light and views to flow freely through the space. They can be used to create a broken-plan living space, which can be more functional than open-plan living.’ Each system is completely bespoke. Internal sliding doors cost around £1,000sq m; casement and pivot doors, around £1,700sq m for a single door and around £1,500sq m for a double door.
