Striker Follows heads back to Llanelli

-

PROLIFIC striker Jordan Follows is back at Llanelli Town.

The much-travelled forward has returned to Stebonheath as the Reds look to mount a challenge for the JD Cymru South title.

Follows has become one of the most familiar faces on the Welsh scene since making his debut for Llanelli as a teenager.

He played for the club during the days of European football and even had a trial with Blackburn Rovers.

His career has taken in spells at Aberystwyth, Carmarthen Town and Haverfordwest County, while he also enjoyed a free-scoring spell in the Icelandic Fourth Division with Hamar.

He featured for Cwmamman United in JD Cymru South last season, but has now made another return to the club where he first made his name.

The 30-year-old’s arrival is a real boost to manager Mark Dickeson, who is entering his first full campaign in charge after taking over the reins midway through last season following the departure of Andy Hill.

Follows remains a real threat in front of goal and his presence will significantly increase the Reds’ firepower.

Also returning to Stebonheath is former Wales Under-21 defender Daniel Alfei.

The ex-Swansea City man is in his third spell with Llanelli. His experience – he has played in the Football League for the likes of Portsmouth, Northampton and Mansfield – could prove crucial next season.

Dickeson told the club website: “Really happy with the squad.

“I’m looking forward to getting on with a pre-season so we can work on as much as we can to get the right balance and playing philosophy.

“I have huge confidence in my coaching team.

“The experience in particular with David Bowen and Chris Thomas, supported by Darren Greene, will be a big asset to the club in our quest to improve.

“I can’t wait for the season to start to see how far we can push this squad.

“There are some big clubs in the league this year spending huge money on players.

“It will be a massive test for everyone, but one we at Llanelli Town are looking forward to.”
