Cefn Sidan U3A It has been more than 12 months since we last were able to meet with each other. Our activities have had to be put on hold. Group leaders continue to plan for the day when we can resume activities, but with the rollout of inoculations and the continuing fall in incidences of Covid-19, there is light at the end of the tunnel. There are a number of things available on the U3A website you can get involved in. If you enjoy writing, or you fancy having a go, there is a national competition that you may wish to get involved with. The idea is to write a short story on the theme ‘freedom’. It should have a maximum of 1,500 words, to be submitted in MS Word or PDF format and be fictional or non-fictional. Entries to be submitted between July 1 and August 31. Entries should be sent to: shortstorywalesu3a@gmail. com. Full details are available online on the U3A news from around Wales website. If you want to take part but don’t have access to IT then forward your entry to the chairman, Paul, who will submit it on your behalf.
