JONES PUSHES TROSTRE CLEAR

-

TITLE favourites Trostre AFC extended their lead at the top of the LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League to 12 points following a 7-1 win at Seaside.

Striker Liam Jones scored a brilliant hat-trick.

There were a brace of goals for Luke Jones, plus one each from Christopher Price Williams and Dominic Saunders.

Despite having a game in hand, it leaves second-placed Pontlliw with a mountain to climb after the 2-2 draw away to neighbours Pengelli United.

Goals from Adam Scott and Ben Higgins for Pontlliw were cancelled out by Shaun Rees and Carl Timbrell.

Third-placed Bwlch Rangers made a great start at Trallwm, shooting into a 3-0 half-time lead thanks to Ian Evans, Dai Lewis and Matthew Hughes. At that point, however, the referee abandoned the game.

The game between division one leaders Felinfoel and Drefach was postponed, which gave secondplaced Camford Sports the chance to close the gap at the top to six points.

But Camford failed to capitalise, and had to settle for a point in the 2-2 draw against visiting Kidwelly Town.

Goals from Owen Rees and Jac Griffiths were not enough to secure maximum points for Camford, and were cancelled out by Alex Kay and Jordan Howells.

For third-placed Pwll Athletic, there was an outstanding performance from Ian Williams, his four goals setting up a comfortable 7-3 win at home to FC Carmarthen.

Darren Blake netted twice, and there was one for Kevin Evans.

To their credit, FC Carmarthen battled to the final whistle, and they were rewarded with goals from Jordan Archer, Liam Prove and Ben Thomas.

Llangennech scored two goals in the first six minutes on the way to an eye-catching 6-1 win at Bancffosfelen. Liam James found the net in the fifth minute, and 60 seconds later Gavin Williams doubled the advantage.

Apart from being gifted an own goal midway through the opening half, Alex Davies scored a fourth for Llangennech in the 41st minute. But the goals dried up after Callum Morgan added number five in the 51st minute.

In a remarkable 90 minutes in division two, West End United joined Pembrey on the same number of league points at the top of the table, but trail on goal difference despite an 8-6 win at home to CP Suburbs.

Striker Stewart Hemingway was again in the thick of the action with four goals, with Patrick Liam Lloyd, James Doel, Ollie Noor and Calum Howell others to get their names on the scoresheet.

Ammanford Town A beat Penllergaer 10-4 in another high-scoring affair.

Kyle Grazette scored five goals and Owen Davies four. Taylor Harries was also on target.

In reserve division one, Trostre AFC moved to within five points of leaders Loughor Rovers after a hardearned 2-1 win at home to Burry Port.

Goals from Jonny Thomas and Cameron Dickeson eventually secured three precious points.

Drefach Reserves were too strong for visiting Killay Reserves, making ground advantage count in an impressive 6-0 win. The goals for Drefach were scored by Dominic Bowler-Edwards, Dan Bush, Trystan Bateman, John Price, Drew Hawkins and Hedd Tudur.

In reserve division two, just when it looked as if Llangennech Reserves were heading for a frustrating 90 minutes they scored twice late on to dig out a 2-1 win at home to Tumble United Reserves.

Lewis Davies scored the first in the 76th minute, followed by the winner five minutes later from Leeroy Bakasa.

There is no change at the top of reserve division three, and Bwlch Rangers stay seven points clear of CK Swiss Valley A following a 6-3 win at home to Drefach A.

Striker Clayton Jenkins grabbed a hat-trick, Mike Caul scored two and the ever-reliable Jason Morris the other one.

Striker Cody Stevens scored four goals for Pwll Athletic Reserves, who beat Llandeilo Town Reserves 7-2 in their away game.

Also on target for Pwll were Ashley Smyth, Finely Hodgson and Lewis Bowen.

In the West Wales Premier League, leaders Penlan Club stay two points clear of South Gower after a 5-1 win at home to Giants Grave.

There was a hat-trick for Sam Lewis, plus goals for Jordan Doyle and Ashleigh Harries.

Jack Jones, with two goals, was the star man for South Gower, who won 3-0 at home to Cwm Wanderers. Kieran Savage also scored.

There was disappointment for Dafen, as a goal from Sam Evans wasn’t enough in the 2-1 defeat at home to Seven Sisters Onllwyn, for whom Ross Newell and Jack Owen helped secure the three points.
