FPNs issued to fly-tippers and litter louts

A NUMBER of Fixed Penalty Notices have been handed out across Carmarthen­shire for littering, dog fouling and people using an unlicensed carrier to remove their waste.

A FPN has been issued to a Llanelli resident who dumped a sofa in Clos Sant Paul in Tyisha. The offence took place in November and was captured on CCTV.

Cllr Philip Hughes, Carmarthen­shire Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Protection, said: “The illegal dumping of any waste ruins our county’s landscape and I am pleased that thanks to the hard work of council officers we were able to identify the persons responsibl­e. I hope that this serves as a reminder that we will not tolerate fly-tipping of any kind in Carmarthen­shire.”

Littering - £75 fixed penalty notices were as follows:

Swansea resident from Gorseinon dumped waste at Morrisons Recycling Facilities in Trostre, Llanelli;

Resident of Maes Ty Gwyn, Llangennec­h, dumped a carrier bag containing a full hoover dust bag on the ground at Morrisons recycling facilities in Trostre, Llanelli;

Ammanford resident disposed of their green waste incorrectl­y;

Resident of Ammanford threw a cigarette packet from their car window;

Swansea resident from Waunarlwyd­d dumped waste at Morrisons recycling facilities in Trostre, Llanelli;

Resident of Llanmiloe dropped his cigarette butt in Laugharne;

Resident of Bond Avenue, Llanelli, dumped waste at Morrisons recycling facilities in Trostre, Llanelli;

Resident of Richard Street, Llanelli, dropped his cigarette butt in John Street, Llanelli;

Resident of Burry Port dumped fast food waste on Heol Pentrehydd, Carmarthen;

Resident of Tonyrefail, Rhondda, dropped a crisp packet on the ground in Glanmor Terrace, Burry Port.

Dog fouling - £100 fixed penalty notices were as follows -

Resident of Tirnewydd, Llwynhendy, failed to clear up her dog’s faeces;

Resident of Felinfoel failed to clear his dog’s faeces whilst walking his dog in the vicinity of Heol Y

Neuadd, Tumble;

Resident of Cwmffrwd, Carmarthen, failed to clear his dog’s faeces whilst at Pendine Beach, Pendine.

Unlicensed waste carrier - £300 fixed penalty notices were as follows -

Resident of Furnace Terrace, Pontyberem, allowed an unlicenced waste carrier to remove their waste; Resident gave their waste to an unlicenced waste carrier who later illegally deposited it;

Llangennec­h resident gave their waste to an unlicenced waste carrier and it was found in illegally dumped in Llangadog.
