A BURRY Port girl has scooped a place in the semi-finals of the Little Miss Teen Great Britain pageant competition.

Enfys Chapman, 12, a Year 7 pupil at Llanelli’s Ysgol y Strade will be battling to reach the grand final of the prestigious competition in Blackpool later this year.

The winner of Little Miss Teen Great Britain will walk away with a number of goodies including a cash prize.

If Enfys reaches the final in October it will be a weekend of fun with the finalists enjoying a beauty queen challenge day, a pyjama diva party and much more.

Enfys is competing in the 10 to 12 age category of the competition.

There are other older categories under the banner of Miss Teen Great Britain.

She said: “Making it to the grand final would be a dream come true – fingers crossed I will be able to represent my hometown and win the Miss Teen Great Britain crown.”

Her mum, Clare James, said: “So far all the rounds have been done virtually on webcam and the semi final is the same.

“She will be interviewed by judges and has had to submit a little bit about herself along the way, all about her interests and passions.”

Enfys is no stranger to the stage, having been a student with Llanelli’s SA15 Stage School and also appearing at the National Eisteddfod of Wales for a recital broadcast on television.

Her hobbies include playing netball at under-14 level locally and she is also a talented dancer.

At home she loves to cook for all the family and caring for her three dogs.

Enfys will find out in the coming months if she is successful in reaching the finals.
