Q
I can’t attend the office; can I complete the initial paperwork and sign forms electronically?
AHM Land Registry are very particular about how deeds are signed. However, recently, they have been more and more open to technological advancements.
We have also moved in line with technological advancements and now offer the option to electronically complete and sign the forms we use in your conveyancing matter.
We have the means to send all initial documents to you to complete and sign electronically by email. We can also electronically verify ID, proof of address and source of funds. We have opted for the same service as the NHS use for the Covid pass application in order to make the process as familiar and easy as possible.
You are also able to sign the contract, transfer, mortgage deed as well as any other documents that may be relevant to your matter electronically. We will input your details and indicate where you will need to sign along with your independent witness, if applicable.
Please note, this service does come at a cost, and therefore, we ask all clients to make an initial payment on account of £25 to cover this cost. The actual cost will depend on the matter and therefore, any unused funds will be put towards other costs relating to your matter.
Please also make use of our online portal and app to receive a quote within minutes. On receipt of the quote, if you decide you wish to instruct us, please click on the “accept quote” button on the e-mail provided and our team will be notified to open a file for you and contact you for further information.
