Tumble

Welsh champion Congratulations yet again to Mabli Collyer whose parents, Rickie (Maesgwern) and Meinir (Dan y Graig) were brought up in Tumble. Mabli, a pupil at Ysgol Maes y Gwendraeth, competed in the Welsh National Swimming Championships and won five gold medals in various disciplines and distances for age 15 and under. She also swam in two races for Swansea Aquatics relay teams, winning a silver and bronze medal.

Mobile library The county mobile library is available in the car park opposite the hall on Tuesdays from 1.45pm to 4pm. You can request any item available in any of the public libraries in Carmarthenshire free either through the online catalogue or ask the mobile library staff. For those who may not be able to visit the mobile or other library, the book swap shelves will be available in the old library in the hall again soon. You may bring a book and swap it for another or just borrow a book and bring it back.

Bag and bin it! There have been complaints again about dog mess left on pavements in the village. Lately, Bethesda Road has been a ‘hotspot’, as has the Cefneithin entrance to the Mynydd Mawr Woodland Park. Many people from the village and elsewhere walk their dogs around the rugby and football pitches of the park in Tumble and on the Graig park. They are lovely places to walk and get exercise. But it’s not so pleasant for the groundsmen cutting the grass when bits of dog faeces fly up in their faces. Please would the few people who do not clean up after their dog remember that dog mess can carry disease and no one wants to take it home on shoes, bike wheels or pram wheels!
