AMMANFORD Seconds defeated Llanelli by two wickets in a high-scoring match at the Park in the Premier West Division.

Llanelli batted first and looked well set at 182-5. Then Ammanford skipper Jamie Evans came on to bowl and ran through the remainder of the innings, taking 6-24.

Llanelli were quickly all out for 230 inside 37 overs. Skipper Lee Davies top-scored for them with 52.

Eirian Morgan (47) and Callum Croft (20) gave Ammanford a decent platform to achieve their target, and Tomos Roach bolstered the middle order with 42.

But it was left to tailenders Fin Jeffries (52) and Sam Potter (38 not out) to finish the job as the home side reached 233-8 inside 42 overs.

A young Carmarthen Wanderers second team put up a creditable performance against a far more experienced Port Talbot Town side in their fivewicket defeat at Trinity Fields.

Stand-in skipper Andrew Harley continued his good form with the bat, scoring a superb excellent 107 not out on an excellent wicket. Harley peppered the boundary rope and struck 14 boundaries.

He shared an opening stand of 50 with James Newnian (20) and had further support from Kai Summers (19) as the home side closed on a healthy 223-7.

Port Talbot attacked the young Wanderers bowling unit from the off, scoring shots all around the ground as skipper Sam Tobin made 57 not out and George Jones scored 54. They reached their target with seven overs to spare.

The pick of the Wanderers bowlers were Zac Harley (2-49), Alfie Connick (2-42) and Jac Bennett (1-20).

Pontarddulais eased to a seven-wicket victory at Gorseinon.

After being put into bat, Gorseinon struggled to 176 all out. They were indebted to lateorder batsmen Jamie Mann (45) and Steffan Richards (29).

Jack Rees took 3-18 for Pontarddulais, with Theo Rogers claiming 3-37.

Bont never looked in danger of not reaching their target. Opener Oliver Rogers led the way with a polished 70 and he found support from Matthew Williams with an unbeaten 36.

Nishaanth Dalavaye claimed two of the three wickets to fall as Pontarddulais claimed victory in the 37th over.

Llanelli host Clydach this weekend, with the Wanderers at Pontarddulais. Gorseinon head to Neath.
