Free school uniform Here at Curad which is based in the old police station in Kidwelly, we have lots of different school uniform. Please come and have a look, all free but if you want to make a small donation, then you are more than welcome.
Fruity Fridays The town council will be giving free fruity goody bags to any children that register from Pembrey and Burry Port. To register children call 01554 834346 or send an email to our community development officer on louise. robinson@pembreyburryport-tc.gov.uk with the following details: Name and age of child/ children,home address, parent/guardian’s name and contact number. These details will be held only to reserve the weekly fruit bags and will be destroyed after the initiative is completed. Fruit bags can be collected every Friday between noon and 2pm from the front of the Memorial Institute building until the last Friday on August 28.Spaces are limited.

Lighthouse Library bookswaps Now open at 69 Station Road between the Co-op and the fish and chip shop. Closed today, Saturday 12th and Saturday 20th to Monday 29th August. Back open August 30. Donations of books, board games and jigsaws accepted when shop is open.There is a children’s cosy corner. Most items are free. Hours liable to change at short notice as staffed by volunteers.

Welsh conversation Every Wednesday at the Pembrey Country Inn, Welsh speakers and learners of all levels are welcome to join in for some conversation and fun. Quiz has resumed on Tuesdays at 8pm. Advisable to book due to available space and tables.

Ty Golau Dementia Charity Trust Ty Golau theraputic group for people with memory problems meet every Monday from 10.30am-noon at Canolfan John Burns Centre, Carmarthen Road, Kidwelly. Food Forward Food Boxes Collaborating with Fairshare and Pembrey and Burry Port Town Council, Food Forward Burry Port is a Lottery funded project which will support residents in your area. The venue is 38 Station Road, Burry Port SA16 0LP. The opening times are every Tuesday between 11am and 5pm. £1 a year for membership then each week you will have the option of spending £3.50 or £5 for goods worth between £15 to £20. Bynea
Craft Fair This Saturday (August 6) the Bynea District Forum hosts a craft fair at Saron Hall, Bynea. Doors will be open to the public from 10am until 12.30pm. An impressive variety of handmade crafts are available along with the opportunity to buy goods normally unavailable on the high street. Both new and returning crafters will be on hand. A chance to shop while supporting the efforts of local crafters and providing a much-needed resource for residents. Now established as a regular monthly event since being introduced in April, the craft fair will continue on the first Saturday of each month. Refreshments are available at the ‘pop-up’ cafe where customers can be served tea/coffee and delicious homemade cakes. Join us, we’d love to have your company. A Saturday morning ‘social’ not to be missed.

Trinity Methodist Church The annual art and craft exhibition will be held at the church from Saturday, July 23, to Saturday, August 5. It will be open on Saturdays and Wednesdays between 10am and 4pm then on Mondays,Tuesdays, Thurdays and Fridays between 2pm and 5pm. Admission: adults £2.50, concessions £1.50 and free for under-12s. Summer activities for children Various activities for children will be available in the village this August. In Parc Y Mynydd Mawr (Tumble Park), Impact 42 offers games and picnic sessions on August 9, 16 and 20. Actif and Menter CGE will host activities there on August 4,11 and 18.
